~ Messing Around ~

Photobucket
Evenin folks!  Hope this finds everyone happy and ready for hump day :)   I took the picture of the gazebo the other day when I was at the park.  I decided to mess around with it.  It's suppose to give the effect of color pencil...   I thought it looked interesting.  I am also posting the unedited version so you can see what it was to start with.
Photobucket
Lots of rumors flying around about AOL and it's demise.  I have no idea if they are going to completely close shop or if they are just not going to support file storage etc any longer.  Either way I guess we all should be prepared and save what you want in case one day we wake up and 'poof' it's gone.  Where will they put the banner for that little announcement?  Our ever changing welcome screen?  I do know it's unbelievably slow.  I've gotten a few alerts and when I went to check them out, I took a nap while I waited for them to open.  Sad indeed!
I will admit with the exception of the alerts and restrictions on private journals I like it here.  Our community has moved and very successfully I might add.  So.. JLand to Bland?  LOL  I don't think 'Bland' is a good name.. we are far from Bland!!!
Ok..  off to mess around some more.  Have a good one folks
Hugs

I love what you did to the gazebo picture

I don't think I would be very good at taking pictures ...stil takes me a few attempts so that I can leave a commnet.

I think Ken (Bucko) suggested we call ourselves Spotters (instead of J-Landers). I like it and yes, I think we should all be looking for new email accounts.
Hugs, Joyce
BTW, I love the photo either way.

That is a really cool effect... Yeah I am not so sure about AOL either... Not really worried about it though, I have email accounts all over the place for different things... So, I would just switch what was or is important to another email... Sheesh!!

Love the effect on the picture. I agree we have transitioned great! And I am SO happy so many have already came here. Bland sounds cooler anyways who likes J's?? lol

Great pictures, as always Donna. The top one really does look like someone used their pencil crayons. What a neat effect! I hope that AOL will transfer our mail to someplace we can keep. I'd hate to lose it all. I just am tired of transferring so many things, and the holiday season is soon approaching. :::SIGH::

Everyone I have been in touch with seem to be having some sort of prob Donna.Jan rang yesterday to speak to me both of us have had a violation notice stuck on our new blogs and quite a few more also.Grrr.As for AOL if it dissapears in a flash at least we have one another here .I love the pics as usual you are so talented at everything. They are fantastic.Take Care God Bless Kath xx

Warning: Personal opinion here..I'm not a "Spotter"..I'm a "Seeker" of true friendships. We've all made this move together, we are all seeking out the ones we have come to know as our friends, our family, those we love though we've never met in person. I would hope that if our name were to change to something other than JLand it would be more personal to all of us. We're hitching the horses, loading the wagons, to cross the great devide to uncharted territory, a place we can call home for JLand settlers.
As you know I think there's a fox in the henhouse and feathers are gonna be flying.

I think it looks more like an oil painting, but I love it, it is beautiful

I think it's all just Rumors...Because AOL put it out there LOUD AND CLEAR...We are closing down journals and it is in your best interest to find a new home or your journal will be deleted forever!

So I think it's just rumors built by wishful thinking. But if it weren't...I wouldn't go back to AOL if my life depended on it! Blogger is Better! If AOL had upgraded their service and gave us half the features blogger does...then i might have given it a second thought.

I like it here...and your right..The community moved over here very smoothly and IMO I think some are already addicted!

Love the photo!
Yesterday when I went to sign in on AOL a little pop up came up that said AOL email. I wonder if that's a sign of what's to come? I think it's definitely time to save anything and everything of any importance to us on AOL. We should probably set up alternative email addresses as well.

The pics are great. Really having an issue with AOL since the scare is out that it may close up. Hope it is only a rumor, but better safe than sorry, so off to creating a gmail account. -Karen

I love the new effects - theres no end to your talent. I think once everyone figures out how to back up and save their memories, AOL will be something of the past. It's fun here. We do need to come up with a good name for the community. Take care and enjoy your Today,
Katie

It's fun to mess around with those effects. I did a charcoal effect on a New Orleans tomb, and it looked really cool!

If AOL goes under completely, I've already got a gmail and a Yahoo account, so I'm not going to worry about it. I'd be surprised if they stopped supporting email, though.

Ken suggested we be called Spotters. I thought that was kind of fun!

Dang, I got so involved in commenting on my personal opinion this morning I forgot to say I love the picture of the gazebo, I always wished we had one in our backyard.
I'm kinda liking it over here in our new home. Feeling more comfy day by day.

We have a local park with the exact same gazebo beside the pond. That pond is filled with geese and ducks, tons of fish and turtles. We often take little Katie over to feed them. I do like your side effects there. Very pretty.
