~ Merry Christmas - from the 'schmuck' ~

Sooooo I have so much grovelling to do. I'm such a schmuck! I never got Christmas cards out. I had every intention... but the best made plans, ya know? Between a short hospital stay and then being buried under almost 4 feet of snow... time got away from me. No excuses I'm still a schmuck, no excuses... I'm sorry. This is the picture I was going to use for the card, but again never got it printed...blah blah.. more excuses.









I do wish you all the happiest of holidays. May your Christmas be very Merry :) Hopefully we can all go into the New Year with all the best life has to give us.







I know I'm more then ready.... the past few years have been a trip to say the least. I've made it as far as 7 months in between...... something... whatever it may be. My last stint was right before Thanksgiving. I had.. well they don't know what... they poked, prodded, tested, drew blood, tested more, more blood. You know the drill.. anyway they ruled out everything.. and then went back to a viral bladder infection. So it's all good... just one more stab into my voodoo doll. Ummmm... and if you know who has that doll can you tell them to stop.... beat 'em up for me.... something?









Not even sure if I mentioned Stephan bought a house. He actually moved in while I was in Dallas. He's done a ton of work on it.... has a ton more to do, but it's his. When I saw the yard all fenced in with a gate at the driveway I told him. 'within 30 days of closing you will have a puppy'.. his response... 'no no.. too much to do' Soooooooooooooo it wasn't 30 days.. it was 45... LOL But I'm a grandma.. hehehehe.. Pure German Sheperd.. his name is Guinness. He's adorable.. and very shy right now... but I.. ummmm.. of course.. made him pose :)









So anyway... thanks for reading my babble... I am so sorry I'm sending you your holiday wish via a blog entry... so uncool... but the best I can do this year. Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!

~ Dallas ~

Sooo a long time ago, before JLand days I was on the hockey message boards on AOL.  Hmmm actually it was when AOL blew them up that I moved over to JLand... lots of you made me stay.  :)   Hmmm 'til they blew them up too and we ended up here.  Landed here?  What is it we do here?  

Sooo here I am doing an entry on Dallas.  Long ago I lived in Arlington some of you knew that.  My son was born in Ft. Worth.... here nor there...  I naturally gravitated towards the Dallas Stars board..  met some folks.  Great folks.  Met some assholes too.  Just like every where. 

Needless to say this was even before the 'No Goal'... another entry if you aren't up to speed.  Of course since Buffalo played Dallas it became that much more fun.  Shortly after the Cup was given to Dallas.. I think the next season I went for visit...  staying at my girlfriend Billie's... we did a hockey game and well that's another story but I met Mike....Robert's brother.... Robert visited the boards... well Facebook brought us back together.  Facebook introduced me to the families. Let me tell you that family is a hoot!  Kinda reminds me of mine, but bigger.  Lots BIGGER.  But you know what they say...'everythings BIGGER in TX' 

So back I go for a visit.  Welcomed with open arms.  Felt like I was part of the family and no one missed a beat.  It was awesome.  I've not smiled, laughed, cried like that in a long time. 




In flight some place between Buffalo and Chicago on my way out.  It was early morning.  Obviously very cloudy.  It was as windy as all get out!  Got a little nervous but all was great.  Lonng flight but good.   Between Chicago and Kansas City the flight was full.  Very full!  Needless to say I got the chance to sit next to a really big guy.  A big, rude guy.  He sat with his elbow jabbing my rib.  If I moved he just stretched out more.   Ummm and he didn't smell great either.   It wasn't fun...  but he bugged the lady in front of him and she complained.   Ahhhh problem solved...  well 'cept for the stench! 




No brainer...  the BIG D on my way in.... 




Loved the way the clouds looked while I was in them.  Took me to a far away place. 

Friday was dinner.  Had an absolute blast.  Ate like a pig!  Mike and his daughter Brandy met Billie, her grand daughter, and I.  It was great to see them.. that was the first time I'd met Brandy... other then FB.  What a gem!!  Ahhh but her Daddy ain't so bad so there was no doubt!




Saturday morning it was a Birthday party for Robert's grandson.  He had turned 3 about a week earlier.  It was a blast!!!!

The Birthday Boy himself!!  That's him sitting on Billie's lap.  First time he met us, and he was right at home. 



Ahhh some of the clan.  Let me tell you, I loved being with them.  So much love... 





Ohhh Dylan... this baby is precious.  I kinda 'saw' him enter the world on FB.  Couldn't wait to hold him... and boy did I.  I wanted to take him home with me.

Saturday night...  the hockey game.  Dallas Stars vs Buffalo Sabres...   I loved it... but the boys didn't show up.  Miller didn't play in goal and only learned after I got home he was hurt.  Still hurt...  and a few rumors flying... time will tell.

Meeting of the mindless..... boys lost 4-0




What a crew, eh?  I love these people.  Words would never do it justice so I will leave it at that.  





And I lost a bet.  Brandy bet me and I lost... had to wear a Stars jersey out of the joint...  she caught me walking out the tunnel ... her Dad behind me.  Loved the expression on my face... and then to learn Mike was behind me...  ::giggle::

Trip was fabulous...  and I can't wait to get back there.  Thought maybe sooner then later...  ::sigh::

So I had a great night last night.  Ever know someone is so perfect for you but the circumstances aren't right.....   I had a conversation, lame as it was, with someone I adore last night and it made me realize once again that I shouldn't look for anyone else, I already found the one.... ::sigh:: but it still doesn't make the circumstances right.   Anyway, the conversation made my night.  I went to sleep with the biggest smile.  Woke up with the biggest smile....  and the funk has been knocked out of me.   Didn't hurt that the weather changed and we've had 2 gorgeous days! 

So.. yeap today I went for a ride in the neighborhood of sorts.  I had to stay fairly close as I had several things that needed to get done.  I won't commentate, I'll let them do the talking.

~ This and That ~

 

Sooooooo just a little bit of this and that.  This is actually this evening.  I was trying to catch the fog roll in.   I'm in my backyard and shooting into the neighbors yard.  Didn't catch the full effect but you get the idea I'm sure.

Been crazy weather here.  Actually today was the warmest in a long time, with a mid 60's range.  The skies have been dark and gloomy and it's been raining waaaaaaay too much.  Hoping this weekend is a bit nicer.  I don't care about the cold I just need blue sky!!!

 

I like this shot, just wish it was more like what it looked like 'live'.  Oh well. 

Had a Dr. appointment today.  Well not really Dr.  They did a stress test.  First one ever.  I survived.  LOL  I've been doing a whole of walking and it's so much better.  My ankle is still messed up, foot is still numb.  I just do better with it, and I don't get cocky.  I remember always I have issues there.  I do not need to fall again!   Anyway, I get on the treadmill and the girl asks, 'when is the last time you've been on one of these?'   Well, it's been a couple years.  The last time I was on one I cried.  I couldn't do it.   Some of you remember me telling about the old man that was freakin running on it.  GRRRRR I'm so glad those days are behind me.   Keep your fingers crossed the results are good.  I mean I feel great and I didn't have to stop or anything so lets hope I'm normal.....

Normal?  Me?  Ok so we all know better then that.   So the Bills suck and this weekends game probably won't be on.  YEAH!  I might be able to watch a decent game for a change.  LOL  Actually, it's suppose to be nice.  I might take a little ride to Niagara Falls to get some pictures. 

Sooooo the Bills suck and hockey starts on Friday.  Oh yeah I'm stoked.  Can't wait for the games to count :)    I hope everyone is doing good.

~ Remembers A Day ~

Yeap, I remember a day when I'd rush on to post pictures of any event... but to wait days to share 'bugs' birthday is horrible!! 

So our 'bug' turned 7.  Her party was Saturday and it was so much fun.  Of course the friends came over during the day and had use of the bounce house.  I actually wanted to get a balloon guy to come to the house.  While my friend was in from Tampa we went out for dinner.. he was in the place and when done with all the kids I asked him for one.  LMAO he made me a tiara and scepter.  Let me just say we laughed our asses off and no doubt my friend and I were the entertainment.  Not obnoxious...  hmmm ok maybe a little but it was funny!!  But alas.. got off the subject... he wasn't available.  :(





The birthday girl in all her glory.  She is growing up so fast.  Her stories and one liners are by far the funniest.   You see that she also got her Aunt Carrie in the bounce house.  LOL  Tooo funny!   Carrie is my niece that got married back in Oct. 





Sooo 'bug' got home from having dinner with her grand parents on Friday night.  Her Uncle Eric had stopped with a huge cooler full of clams on ice.  Ohhh to say she was happy was an understatement.  Even after a huge dinner she wanted to cook 'a couple' before she went to bed.   Mom did talk her into waiting for her Uncle Eric.. and wait she did.... that is until they hit the table after being steamed.  She fixes her own little mix on her plate.  Me?  Well I think she put too much hot sauce down so she cut it with butter. 





Ahhhh and there she takes a bite.  LMAO  I think she ate 3 dozen herself.  My tummy couldn't do that... and doesn't.  I don't like clams.......  well casino yes but not steamed... they sit like rocks!!





Yeap.. another tag.  hehehehe  Some of you may or may not know, but I'm friends with Elias Chatzoudis on facebook.  I actually friended him so I could see his up and coming artwork and of course scope out other taggers work :)   So anyway he came out with the football girls and I razzed him about hockey girls...  not even sure if I posted this so I will keep it short.  One thing led to another and we communicated privately...  he promised to do at least one hockey girl.   I was thrilled... but then I got greedy.   He is from Greece, and I know at times the colors are off... so I sent him a link to a picture of a Sabres jersey.  I knew he wouldn't be able to use the logo, but the colors... that's what I wanted.  I felt bad after.. but damn didn't that precious man do it!   LOL I was so excited and I told him I was doing a happy dance... hehehehe.. teasing he told me he'd like to see it.  Sooo I promised him a video.  NOOOOO I did not shake my bootie but I did thank him.  So anyway... of course I jumped on the tube of the girl and added some color and a few pictures I took along with a video.  I'm very pleased with it!!! 





I have been messing with the football girls.  Not all the colors will work and I am not sure I can do a Bills one, but I am playing around.  I don't remember everyone's team but I have already started.  I will post them here in a day or two.  Hmmmm maybe more,  I entered the Steelers one into a contest so I can't show it off or anything until it's over.  Deadline is tomorrow so hopefully it won't take forever.   I am not sure about tagging.  Though the hard part is the tag itself, it still gets to be time consuming... either way something will be up .. a snag or an offer.  :)
