~ And Time Stood Still ~

Photobucket
Oh wait, that wouldn't be time it would be the progress bar for transfering my journal over here.  OMG!  I spent more time on that then I ever intended, and no luck.  I am ready to just shit can the whole idea of having it here as an archive.  I tried everything.  Clearing history, clearing cache, using an outside browser, using firefox at work.  Nothing worked.  My progress bar would get just past half way and bomb out... stall.  I could see it in dashboard, tried to publish.  No entries.  Delete, try again.  Same thing.  I even had Ste try it.  ::waving:: thanks Ste...  I appreciate the couple of hours you spent trying.   I appreciate all the mails and the suggestions on how to fix it, but nothing is working. Vish posted in Magic Smoke that blogger couldn't even do it and will try again tomorrow.  So it's not me, it's them.  :::sigh:::  I'm beginning to think anyone with larger journals or lots of graphics are having issues.  It's apparent by emails and comments over at Magic Smoke.  For some reason some are just not moving as planned.  I have my pictures etc, so I'm not worried about that.  Just thought it would be nice to be archived............................  Congrats to those who had success.
Hope everyone is doing well.  I really like it here, but I do have a slight rant.  Please include email addresses in your profile or comment if you asking for a reply.  It's frustrating enough not getting alerts but to have to hunt folks down to give answers when most times they are in the journals is frustrating.  I don't want to be rude and not answer, but help me out, eh?   Same thing with tag requests.  You ask for one but expect me to know where to send it?  I've heard this around 'town' and it is not just me.  'Cmon.  Make it easy on everyone add your email to your profile.  If you have a blog, click on view entire profile on your blog, edit, add.  Simple.  If you don't have a blog, log in and edit.  I have several requests that went unanswered because I don't have an email address to send to.  Done ranting for now ;)
Took these pictures on my way home from work.  The colors in the trees caught my eye yesterday, but it was pouring rain.  I made it a point to go that way again just so I could get a shot.  That yellow and ride looks like fire in the sky as you come up to the trees.  With the sun glaring on them.  WOW!!

My deer friends were out to dinner tonight when I passed by so I stopped.  I love how they stood looking at me.  Ear twitched and all....
k... I'm tired and frustrated...   I'll catch up tomorrow... I had over 400 entry alerts on google reader.  :::sigh::: may just have to pick up as of today, sorry.   Not sure if those are transferred entries or new ones.... either way that's a lot of reading for this girl tonight.

Hugs

I hear that if your journals are really big people are having a horrible time transferring them. I'm so sorry because that means they will loose so much. I hope you can get things figured out and they work.
Take care, Chrissie

From what I'm reading, I agree that it seems to be larger journals that are not transfering. I had a lot of entries, but not tons of graphics, and I've only been doing this for a couple of years now, so I was able to get mine moved over.

I hope it goes better for you tomorrow!

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble getting your journal transferred.
Great pictures. No matter how many times I see deer on the side of the road, I am in awe of what beautiful creatures they are.
Thanks for sharing,

I found I had to take all my safety features, fire walls, cookie blockers down, and keep it in Explorer!

Every time Firefox jumped back in I had to start all over again!

So you have to keep staring at it so it knows you are watching its every move and not touch a thing until finally they capture it. {My son's words to me]lol Sorry but it seemed to help that last round.

I felt like I was out chopping fire wood all day when it was all said and done.

At first I even thought it was everyone moving at once and to just wait till early morning to try again but AOL is a mess at nights!

Very tired,
Ann

AOL can never do anything right. They take away their journals and CAN'T EVEN get the transfer tool to be bug free! Ughh!

Great photos from the trip home yesterday.

I have Monday off so i will probably be out and about taking pictures..Massachusetts is at it's Peek Foliage this weekend.

love the pix! i find it interesting how some aol journals went without a hitch and it has been a major headache for others. it took a couple of tries for me, but then poof!! there it was, same name and everything. hope you get it transferred. i know there are many entries you wouldn't want to lose.

TRY THIS:
when your journal is processing and you can see the blue line moving...WALK AWAY for ONE HOUR...do not touch the PC. Then come back. if it is stalled, hit refresh. If refresh seems to stall, WALK AWAY. Trust me, if i can move 1000 entries in one journal after 100 tries in 3 days, and it worked for me, IT WILL WORK FOR ME. This is Chris's amazing solution.

and i remember to always give you my aol email address when requesting a tag but gee, seems like most forget, still.
SIGH.
I love you!

Sorry it's been rough going for you hon. I hope someone over at Magic Smoke can help (I noticed your enquiry in the bunch over there)...The Fall colors are blazing now, it's beautiful out. Do you know how to delete from Google (addy's no longer in use)? If you don't give me a shout and I'll explain it to you. (Hugs)Indigo

Sorry you are having such a time getting things transferred over, as it was simple for me to do, which AMAZED me. Like seeing the fall colors, makes me miss driving a lil' bit ... I could bike on a trail around here, stil though, to have company and seeing things like the deer would be cool.

I guess I just wanted to chat at someone! Take care!

I did what I could and had the same problem so I just copied (via e-book) and left it at that. Hope everything works out. Take care and enjoy,

Donna, I sure hope they can fix things so you can bring your journal over here. I know that's been a real pain in the ass for you. Seems to me all these kinks should have been worked out sooner. Folks are running out of time, I can't begin to imagine how all of you must feel.
