~ And Other Things ~

Photobucket
Hey folks, hope this finds you all doing well. Between work and getting ready for the wedding next Saturday I've been busy. Real busy. It's a good busy but maaaaaaaaaaaan! I thought I'd add some more pictures from the day at the park. With Dad unable to walk like he use to, hiking was not part of the day. We walked but we did not climb up or down so some of these shots are on the ledge looking down. I did think about taking the trek by myself to get better angles, but I didn't want to make everyone else wait on me.
Photobucket
The old railroad bridge goes over the gorge and is actually to the right of the falls. I suppose combining the two shots would give you some of the full effect. It's a beautiful area :)
Photobucket
Oh, how 'bout having dinner here? Isn't the view fabulous? I'm always amazed at how the trees grow out of the slate on the side. Makes a bit of a dramatic effect when you see it live.
Photobucket
I love this shot! My only wish was that the road wasn't so clean. I think a few leaves covering the blacktop would have added a wonderful touch!
I spent endless hours today in between running and chores trying to migrate my journal. This is almost becoming an obsession, LOL. Actually today I did a lot of thinking. I posted a comment in Magic Smoke the other night. Ok, I've posted several there as well as on the blogger help site. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I'm downright pissed off. Not so much because I can't get my journal to migrate over here, but the way both services have treated the situation. Not just with me but with others as well. The condescending responses about how 'easy' it is. How only a handful can't get their journal over to blogger. I could go on, but you all know already. I've asked point blank questions regarding the size of journals, and if mine was just to large. There was mention of embed images and image tags. What does that mean? I know 95% of us used the same methods to put pictures, graphics, and video's in our journals. So what does that mean? Tell me, maybe I can delete something to make it go. But no. I don't get answers I get the typical canned response if I get anything at all, 'we are working on it.' Why can the questions not be answered? Why are they being ignored as though it has not even been asked. Just tell us. If we can't get our journals over fine. I won't waste anymore time trying. If I need to remove something tell me, I'll do it. I grew up with the motto, 'honesty is the best policy.' The treatment I've received (along with others) is horrible. I am not an internet idiot, talk to me, tell me the truth. Don't treat me like I am some lazy jerk who wants to sit on my ass and have someone else do it. Like I haven't tried every possible thing. In the beginning I was told blogger couldn't get it either, so they know it's not me. WTF!?!? Needless to say I feel like a lemming. I followed here to blogger because of the promise to have my journal moved. To be helped with the situation when it didn't work. Now I get treated like some spaz, if I'm treated at all. I've read comments and concerns that have gone unanswered completely. Is that how you help folks???? I'm not real happy with it and I am seriously contemplating going to another blog site. I can start fresh there as I have here and not be treated with such little respect. Being talked to like a child. They are a dime a dozen and it is painfully obvious neither service cares where we end up.
I know it probably sounds like I'm whining, and maybe I am. I'm tired, frustrated, and angry. The loyalty we gave AOL during all the bullshit they put us through, all their issues, and now they treat folks like we are incompetent boobs. I'm hanging out for a bit they still have a few days in my eyes, but not many. It's been over 2 weeks and still no answers and no honesty. I've been patient and did my part. When will these services to their part and be upfront and honest about what is going on? I'll keep you posted.....
hugs
~d

I tried two times to transfer my tag journal over here and it got hung up around 50% both times. I let it hang once while I left, came home a couple hours later and low and behold it was still stuck! I gave up trying. I am not so upset over losing my tag journal as I am the way they are treating us about it! I truly believe our graphic journals are just to big. WTH they can't just come out and say that is beyond me!!

Beautiful pictures. I gave up on trying to transfer my journal here. Hugs, Alvia

Oh honey...I understand. I'd be frustrated too. No, pissed off is a better word.

But if it makes you feel better, your pictures are stunning! :)

XOXO,

I'm sorry you aren't getting any help - thankfully I've had great luck and even got comments restored on my private journals. Still keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hi D,
I'm getting caught up here, I've had some bad days with a new medicine I'm taking, but today I've been able to sit up all day without being dizzy of sick! Anyhow, I read through your missed posts...it's hard to believe it has been a year since your sister passed. I know you miss her very much and I'll be praying for you on Wednesday....I'm sure it will be an emotional day. The wedding is sooooo close, all that planning and it's finally here, how exciting! I can hardly wait to see all the pictures....I bet bug will look so cute :)
I'm so sorry about your journal issues, and I don't blame you one bit for being pissed off....it's shameful the way they have treated people. I will still hold out hope that you will find some way to transfer all your hard work & memories.

Love & Pooh Hugs,
Linda

The photos are gorgeous! What a wonderful place to spend a few hours and unwind. I know you're excited about the wedding and there's a squillion things to do beforehand. I'm at a loss to know what to do about your journal. I transferred all three of mine in no time and with all the pics in my main journal it wasn't exactly small! Jeannette xx

i agree with you 100%, D. There is no one more dependable or helpful in J land than YOU and you have LOVED your journal and it has shown. I also got crappy or NO response from Magic whoever....and i am lucky that Chris's idea worked for me. I had hundreds of tags and hundreds of large pics in DG 1 and it took four days for it to move over. I think abuot your journal every day and truly pray somehow you get it over here. If you move to another site, well, i will follow you anywhere. You do not deserve this.
those pics are OUT OF THIS WORLD. You have great talent! Ohio does not have those colors this year.
i love you always.

Donna your pictures are absolutely stunning. We do have Autumn colours here but not the intensity you get there, it is probably the different species of trees. I know Guido is getting a bit frantic now as well as with several others. Like you I blame blogger just as much as aol. They should have put a lot more research and work into it AND like you, my biggest complaint is that they are ignoring people, not even bothering to answer their queries. It is extremely rude not to say offensive. To be honest, I do not know whether I am staying with blogger. I have put a lot of work into my blog but I am not happy with the way things work here and I am not happy with the treatment we have received.

Donna those pictures are calandar worthy. Why not make up some calendars and sell them? I would buy a couple or more!

I did get my old one to transfer here but it sure wasn't the same. The font and placements are different and the sidebar didn't want to leave aol so I left it. Now I wound up with two here. Original and part two! Oh, well. Don't leave your place here is lovely. You have done a great job and it is easy (finally)to find everyone on the dashboard! Dannelle

Hi D, I did pop on over to Magic Smoke and read the comments. It sure does seem like one by one, everyone that had a problem has now successfully migrated but you. Well, take that back..there are some here also but yours. If they could pull Indigo's out of the trash, they should be able to move a journal. There has to be a pc geek there that could do it in a heartbeat. Embedding, I think, is html codes, which we only used for videos or photoslides. Honestly, do they really think you haven't tried everything? The attitude is a pisser. I pray every day that this works out for you. (BTW: that park is just stunning!) Love ya, Chris

With as much as you have invested in your journal, you aren't whining, but mourning ... I am upset for you that you are having such problems. It sort of dulls the joy of me being able to move my simple journal over so easily. Wish I knew who to talk to or how to help.

Oh, don't know if you will read this, but I like Ovechikin better than Crosby ... just something about Sidney that reminds me of a flashy scorer, and not a big time winner. But that is me, I guess.

I tell ya what ... everytime you put pics like this up I'm in heaven. We just don't get this sort of view in Alabama.

I'm so sorry you can't transfer your journal. I had a hell of a time doing it. It was so frustrating I had to turn my computer off for two days to catch my breath. It was horrible. Finally, it worked. What a nightmare this has been! I hope you stay here. But, if you change to another blog site be sure to send a link ok?
Your pictures are breathtaking!! I can't imagine how beautiful it all was in person!

Hi dear :) How are you? Hope well. Despite being busy it sounds like you had a good weekend thoguh. Im glad ;) My gosh hun the pics are just breathtaking. I really enjoyed looking at them several times lol. I would love to have dinner there at that spot in the one pic you took. How gorgeous for sure. Yeah that one pic you took of that road it would have been neat if there was some leaves on it. But still beautiful shot. Hun about the migration thing. No one can blame u at all for being downright angry. I know i would be. I think its beyond ridiclous at this opt. They way they have handled it or should i say not handling it is just wrong. They show no concern and havent helped u or others at all. The only thing i can suggest to you is take some of the graphics and pictures out? Maybe that would really help i dont know. But its not right you have to do that for it to migrate. *sigh* I really hope and pray it can get done for you i do. You have been more then patient and i dont blame u at all for what you said. I totally agree with it all. Well take care dear. Hang in
there. Dont give up. Have a good day, xo, Leslie

I love the pictures Donna. It doesn't look like we will be seeing the beautiful colors here this season.
I hope you don't move elsewhere because it was your encouragement and that of others that I made the move here. I do understand your being pissed about it and if it were me I would be too. I have my thoughts on the reasons why you and many others aren't getting answers and honesty, oh well, guess I should keep those thoughts to myself.
Hope you have had a better day today and have time to relax.
Hugs

I can understand your frustration!
I hope you don't leave though...I will miss my Hockey addict buddy :(

But i do agree that they shouldn't talk to us like we are morons. I work in Information Technology and we NEVER make people feel like they are idiots..even when it is something like they forgot to plug in the printer LOL...We make them feel less embarrassed and walk away with a "hey I've done that before too"

They really should realize that more so than often the people on the other side (us) know more about computers then they do.
