~ And other things ~

Photobucket
Ahhhhh..... and other things. The snow has been falling south of the city. Lucky for me it's not been at my house. They called for a mix bag today, rain, sleet, snow. I didn't venture out so I'm not sure what it did exactly. Looked just wet. I messed around with tag above. Feel free to grab it if you like... you all know all I ask is for a link back.
I wanted to announce and pimp my younger sisters blog. She's been visiting me forever and while I was at their house recovering she started her own. I helped a bit but she seems to have it up and running. Can you stop by and say hello? Not sure how much she'll write, but I think she is having fun putting in her pictures. Thanks!
Photobucket
Julie awarded me the Superior Scribbler award. Thanks Julie I'm flattered. I have seen this award all over the blogsper so I am thinking I'm one of the last to get it. I know there are a ton of journals out there that deserve it, but I will leave it open to grab.
Warning! You may want to skip this next section... graphic picture.
I pretty much vegged today. It was an odd day. It wasn't that I felt bad, but I didn't feel great. Just couldn't get comfortable sitting or laying. Nothing really hurt, but my foot is still driving me banana's. I go to the diabetic Dr tomorrow so hopefully she can give me some additional information. No results from the tests on Friday yet, but I know what I heard and I'm not stupid, something is not right there. I don't want to freak out but I also know what they say about diabetes and feet. Could it be related or is it in fact from the balloon pump?
Anyway in addition to just not getting comfy, I itched. My skin is dry but everything itched. My scar (warning picture below) itched like mad and as of now I cannot put anything on it. Hoping when I see the cardiologist on Wed they will give me permission. We'll see. I can't think of anything that would make me itch. Nothing has changed except for the addition of meds. Grrrrrr Maybe it's just me.
Photobucket
I sound like I'm whining today... didn't mean to. I actually feel pretty good. I guess my emotions are getting the best of me. I will have to ask about that as well. I know they told me I'm normal, LMAO, but I still feel out of sorts. Something I'm not use to. K.. sorry I subjected you to the picture... not sure why... but it's here and my head is telling me to post it..... out of sorts I tell you...
Hope everyone is doing well and had a great weekend. Mine was same 'ole same 'ole.
Hugs

congrats on that award! Don't apologize for showing that pic...i am glad you showed it. It has to be normal after ALL that you have gone thru to have days where things seem off and there are lots of worries....i am so proud of you and how far you have come and i am so thankful you are going to be ok. I hope the docs let you have some meds on Weds. That itching has got to be awful. LOVE YOU!

Gotta say, that's one of the prettiest scars I've seen. No joke! It's like a tatooed necklace. I'm not saying I want one or anything, but as far as scars go...it's a beaut!

I saw my Dad's scars after heart surgery. He was a tough ass and that knocked him for a loop. I am lucky to be alive too after so many accidents-- broken neck, 12 fractured ribs, two broken arms and wrists....and that was AFTER Vietnam!

You are a brave lady- and you can email me anytime.

Warm Regards,

D, *hugs* Thats good no snow by you, yet, haa, lol. I will try my hardest to stop by ur sisters blog and say hi. Thats great she started one. Im sure she will be addicted in no time, haa, lol. Congrats on the Scribbler award. You so earned that hun! Yeah it was going around for awhile. Actually hun i do believe you were also given this award before by Brittany too. I think she had given it to you while u were still gone. Take a look at her blog back in her older entries. Im very sure she put you on there as one of the 5 ppl she picked ;) Im so sorry u couldnt get comfy today. Thats the worse feeling i can imagine. I hope the doc visit goes well I will be praying for u and that u will get the answers you need. Im sure its not just you about the itching. If you know u are, you are. Maybe you can talk to the doc too about this. Hun really i am glad too you showed that scar. Your scar looks similar to the one i have on my stomach. Yrs ago while preg with Danielle I had a cyst removal while i was 16 weeks preg. Left me with a lovely long scar after. I still see it today, it healed nicely though and its much lighter now. Anyway hun. Take good care of yourself. Rest well. ttys xo, Leslie

Sorry you had an "OFF" day. I was going to ask you when I visited your Journal earlier if the festivities of Thanksgiving day knocked you for a loop. Don't forget you had major, major surgery. Some days you are going to go 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. You know you are getting better. Rest when you need to. You body is doing major renovations. You are young and stronger than you think, even if it doesen't feel like it today.

The scar, that is why I always say...(Gentle Hugs)

Hey Donna, you are certainly entitled to whine as much as you want to. Wow, that scar is something else. Reminds me of a train track. Maybe a tatoo is in order after you are better. LMAO.
Get well GF.

D - Congrats on the Scribbler Award. Well deserved! And, thanks for sharing your scar pic. Will they not even let you put vitamin E on it? That is what I used last year on the knee and ankle after both surgeries. Maybe there is a reason since it is over the sternum. I hope you get some relief soon. Bless your heart, you have been through a lot. Glad you are still with us.

Sorry that today was not a very good day. It is going to take awhile till you feel totally well. The scar from open heart is kinda big but it is just a scar. The scar is your gift of life. I hope the dr. can tell you what the itching is from and make it go away! Linda

You're going to have good days and bad for a while, even though you're gettig used to it your body is still in trauma after major surgery. The itching probably means you're healing. I hope you get results at the doctors and they may have some answers about your foot too. That scar is so big, maybe a zip fastener could have been put in, pity Jan wasn't in the operating room with you, she could have got out the sewing machine! I'm glad you haven't got snow yet, hope it keeps away for a time! I'll go over and see your sister, nice to know we have another member of your family posting! Have a good week, I'm keeping you in my prayers still, hope you get tons better soon. Jeannette xx

Praying for you to feel better and to recover so completely that you will not have a worry in the world about this having been. Thanks for the tag too and I hope the itching goes away. Thank you for sharing the scar... you have come through a lot and it is normal to be a little out of sorts after major surgery. It will take a bit of time to get to feeling back to normal. May you have a wonderful Christmas season surrounded by family and friends.

Itching from the healing perhaps? All things considered it doesn't look bad, but I think you might want to put your pole dancing career on hold. ;)

Congrats on the award ... you are a masterful scribbler!

Hi D, the scar is something else! But, everytime you look at it just think of how close you came to leaving this world! A constant reminder of how precious life is and how fast it can be snuffed out. As with any wound, itching is a sign of healing so hang in there chick. Glad you're getting your groove back. Will def check out your sis's blog!

Aw, D, sorry you are off today. You will have those kinds of days. Make a list for your doctor with every question you have so you don't forget anything. The scar itching....my BF's itched like crazy because it was healing. The more it healed, the itchier it got. Yours is looking pretty good. I see it looks like it's healing from the bottom up. That's how BF's did also.

Open heart surgery knocks your whole system out of whack for a while. I say my prayers for you every day.

Off to visit your sis...Love you!

Donna no need to apologize I'm sure anyone who has been through what you have would be emotional. Thanks for sharing the picture of the scar with us. I hope you get some answers from your doctors I know you must be so worried.
Thanks for the link to Nancy's journal. I've been over to welcome her but it won't let me add myself as a follower, I'll go back later and try again. She has a nack for picture taking too. Thanks!
I hope you have a restful week and hope the itching eases soon.
Love ya,

From my experience caring for heart patients, the itching seems to be pretty common.

No doubt it's maddening though.

And D...your scar looks GREAT! It's healing beautifully. Well, obviously, I'm sure you'd rather not have the scar, but it really does look to be healing quite well.

Were you having any trouble with your feet prior to surgery?

XOXO

Wow Donna, that's some scar! It looks really good though. I've seen a few other bypass scars, they usually aren't nearly as good, seriously! I bet with time it will hardly show. But the important thing is that you are ok! Hugs :-)

That is a victory scar, the mark of a warrior. You survived and will only continue to survive and do it well. I'm guessing the itching is coming from the new meds but I'm not a Dr. (I just play one on tv. lol. Being silly as usual trying to get you to grin really big) I hope the diabetic Doc says something about your foot. THat worries me. I love your tags. When I snag I promise to always be a good girl and link back here. Enjoy your winter though and the holiday season.

Congratulations on your award Donna. I have been across to your sister's blog but I can't become one of her reader's yet as something isn't working right over there yet. I'm looking forward to getting to know her.
As for you dear friend.. your battle scar is beautiful! My old body is like the'map of the world' according to one of my doctors. Lol! He was being kind..honest! Lol!
It's understandable for you to have ups and downs..your body has taken a fair old pummeling so just learn to go with the flow. Each day then week will see a brighter you.
Good luck with your diabetes tests.
Thinking of you.

Wow that is quite the incision. My Grandpa had surgery like you a long time ago, he'd show us his scar from time to time.

You might have me beat in the scar contest! Have two major ones myself. Hey since you are just hanging out you should read Christaine Northrup's book on Women's Health. Not the menopause one but the other. Just Google her name and it will come up. It is a great book on the mind/body/spirit connection.

OMG...that looks sooooooo painful! (but I am a squeemish baby LOL). I've never seen a scar like that - you poor dear. I would think after going through the horrendous things you've been through lately your emotions may be a tad out of whack. You endured quite a trauma.
Take care.
