~ OOppps ~

Short and sweet, typing one handed....since the cat is out of the bag... sort if... Nancy touched on it briefly on her blog. I'll fill you in. Most know I have diabetic neuropathy in my left foot and minimal movement in the left ankle. I've been a bit confident and/...or cocky when walking. The other night I lost my balance. I tried to catch myself and failed miserably. I have a humerus fracture (bone between shoulder and elbow), a broken rib, and my face is busted up. Will need surgery on my nose when the swelling goes down (7-10 days). The arm is the most painful... and it is not humorous.. ok bad joke! I'll be fine in a few days. Really embarrassed tho.

Tag requests will be sent out... I just need a few days. Did get requests with no email so they have been deleted from my in box, as I can't hunt you down. If it's you, request again with name..which tag and an email and I will get them out ASAP. Please put it on correct entry or it will be deleted.  I will extend the expiration until 9/16 but after that I'm sorry your loss. You'll need to watch going forward. Thanks for understanding.

Hugs
~d

DON'T be embarrassed. We've all done plenty of things like that, sometimes getting away with it~ in this case how I wish that had been the case for you~but often with bad results. Hoping this all gets taken care of as soon as possible & that you are in the least amount of pain possible as well. ~Mary

You sound like me ....I tripped over one of my puppies at 2am in the morning ..this was on Friday morning around 200am ...I did not think my arm was fractured but sure in a lot of pain. Finally on Sunday I went to the minor emergency center and found out I had a fracture of my right humerus and dislocated shoulder ...he sent me directly to the ER ....I went to PT from April 1st until June 22 ....I had surgery on August 20th ...the shoulder does not hurt but my right knee is a killer ..he grafted bone from my tibia ...I go tomorrow for my post op appointment ...my right leg is so swollen ...not sure what he will say.

Hope you feel better

Hugs Mari

You have nothing to be embarrassed about dear friend. I took a tumble down the basement stairs a month ago and I'm dealing with the one hand typing as we speak.

Your fall was much, much worse and I hope for minimal pain and you heal quickly. You're in my thoughts and prayers on the smoke dear friend. (Hugs)Indigo

Glad to see that you still have your smiles about you ...

While I still manage to ride my bike, I don't have the same expectations of myself. I think that if I wasn't in the physical condition that I am in, I would have been hurt worse than I have been.

One of the toughest things to do is to accept certain limitations. My last fall on my bike reminded me of that. It had been around six months or so that something like that happened to me, and I think that part of why it did, was because I got a little too full of myself, and forgot I had issues.

There are times for me, where climbing a flight of stairs is not that different from climbing up a cliff. And I don't care how 'bad' I look doing it, I get it done as best as I can. For me, reminding myself that getting there unhurt is more important than how I look getting there, keeps me from feeling self conscious about the things.

Try not to feel so cocky that you don't remember that there are things going on, where you have to be more inventive in order to accomplish the things you want to do. There is nothing wrong with that, as long as you can reap as much joy and pleasure as you can.

Be safe.

And man ... what happened to the Bills on Monday Night? Another case of 'winners do what losers don't'. I felt bad for Buffalo.
